N.Korean Ambassador presents credentials

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea /DPRK/ Mr Hong Gyu presented his letter of credential to the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj on April 16. At a meeting after this ceremony Mr Elbegdorj noted that the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and North Korea is occurring this year and said the friendly good relations between the two countries will continue in future. Mr Hong Gyu conveyed a greetings of the North Korean young leader, Kim Jong Un to Ts.Elbegdorj and confirmed that the Mongolian President is invited to the North Korea. The Ambassador said his country is determined to activate the economic reform. To this Mr Elbegdorj said Mongolia is ready to share its experience in running such reforms. Then, the sides touched upon issues of resolving peacefully the Korean peninsula's problems. Mr Elbegdorj said Mongolia can help in this, "Mongolia's leader has already sounded an initiative on organizing here a discussion on security issues of North East Asia, so it is possible to run bilateral and multilateral meetings on the matter". After this the President and the Ambassador focused on the cooperation issues such as inviting to Mongolia the N.Korean teams of basketball, football and judo to let them have trainings for international competitions, and others. Noting that "a friend in need is a friend indeed", the Ambassador Hong Gyu asked the President to seek possibilities of sending a food aid to N.Korea which might suffer food shortage in a harsh spring time.
