German FM Praises Qatar-Germany Ties as Business and Investment in Qatar Forum Concludes

Berlin, April 16 (QNA) - The Business and Investment in Qatar Forum concluded Tuesday in Berlin in the presence of a large crowd of ministers, officials, businessmen, private sector leaders, company managers from the Qatari and German sides, as well as concerned parties from other countries. At the outset of the day, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle addressed the attendees, saying that Berlin, as a technology leader, is willing to cooperate with other sides in this field. He added that Germany is committed to supporting the European Union, which is suffering from an economic crisis, as it ensembles a political project that should be preserved, not just a financial or banking union. Westerwelle said that Qatar's investments in the EU and Germany reflects Doha's success and wise vision in benefiting from financial investments. "The governments of Qatar and Germany cooperate closely in many critical issues," the German official said, adding: "For instance, we will meet in Istanbul on Saturday to discuss the tragic and sad situation in Syria, and this is a partnership that reflects our agreement, not only in economy and commerce but also in politics. We will stand hand by hand and exchange our ideas and policies because we care about the fate of the whole region." Westerwelle noted that the forum was a great opportunity for the two countries, pledging to follow it and wishing success to everyone. (QNA)
