14 Forum of GCC Society for History and Archeology Kicks off Tomorrow

Doha, April 16 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdualziz Al-Kuwari, is to open tomorrow, Wednesday the 14th Forum of the GCC Society for History and Archeology to to be held at Doha Sheraton Hotel with the participation of more than 60 of the Society members coming from the GCC countries in addition to a number invitees including historians, archaeologists, and intellectuals from in and outside Qatar. The two-day event program will include ten sessions discussing 24 research papers, scientific studies and reports, that concentrate mainly on the history , monuments and traditional heritage of the GCC countries, covering different eras starting from prehistoric and through the modern and contemporary are. One of the sessions will be dedicated to a workshop concerned with developing a scientific conception on composing a number of book on the monuments in the GCC countries. The main objectives of this annual forum, which gathers scientists, researchers and scholars in the fields of history, archeology and heritage in the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula, is to build cooperation between specialists in these disciplines to preserve national identity in the GCC countries, maintain social cohesion and communication among researchers to exchange scientific expertise in their respective areas of specialization.
