12 Qatari Plastic Products Exporters Join Tasdeer at Morocco Exhibition
Doha, April 13 (QNA) - Qatar Development Bank's export development agency, Tasdeer, has revealed that 12 industry players will join it at Morocco's largest plastic products fair, Plast Expo 2013 to foster potential expansion and business opportunities in the country.
Tasdeer lays the first stone for Qatari plastic products exporters to tap into North Africa's most vibrant market of Morocco, a press release by the QDB said on Saturday.
Qatar is set to partake at the event at an exclusive pavilion spanning 144 square meters of space with a strong presence from companies such as Al Bayader Pack Qatar, Haya Plastics, Asima Plastics, Doha Plastics, Gulf Plastic Factory, Hepworth PME Qatar, Qatar German Medical Devices, Qatar polymer Industrial Company, Orient Plastic Containers Factory, Uniplast and Universal Wrapping Manufacturing. For the 2013 edition, Maroc Export will put a hosted-buyers' program into effect. As a result, high-profile trade visitors from Algeria, Egypt, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Tunisia will attend to discuss business.
Plast Expo will be held at the International Fair Grounds of Casablanca between June 19th and 22nd, and will see over 2,800 delegates and more than 150 exhibitors from across the globe showcasing their product and services line-up to scores of potential importers and trade visitors.
Plast expo is a bi-annual event which positioned as the Euro-Mediterranean gateway to Africa. Seven groups were present at Plast Expo 2011 including the Austrian pavilion "Expo Austria", AVEP from Spain, the Milan Chamber of Commerce through Promos and group pavilions from China, South Korea and Taiwan.
The French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE organized for the first time an official pavilion consisting of major French companies active in plastics machinery and equipment.
For his part, QDB Chief Executive Officer Mansour Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud said the bank is committed to developing Qatar's private sector by continuously initiating "programs and activities that aim at establishing a multi-faceted and world-class export industry in the country," adding that "Morocco's Plast Expo is a superb platform to promote Qatari plastic exporters to new and promising markets in North Africa."
In the lead-up to the event, Tasdeer will organize a series of planning and preparation meetings with participants. The first of these events was recently held at QDB premises with the presence of Tasdeer Executive Director Mr. Hassan Khalifa Al Mansoori. "This is a great opportunity for the Qatari plastic products market as it helps to open newer avenues for growth.
Tasdeer has recently championed an in-depth research of the Moroccan market with valuable findings which I urge each of the participants to delve into in addition to making use of the importers' contact lists which we have compiled and which includes importers' credit worthiness. Both of these initiatives are strongly in line with our strategic role to develop the local private sector and Tasdeer's customized suite of financial services such as pre-shipment insurance, post-shipment insurance and bill discounting is available to our exporters," Al Mansoori said as he welcomed the attendees.
Morocco offers large market for the plastic products and there is good growth expected in this sector. The customs duty charged by Morocco for the products manufactured by Qatari companies is Zero per cent owing to the GAFTA agreement. (QNA)
