MILY PROBING CAUSE OF CLASH BETWEEN NAVAL AND ARMY OFFICERS
Jakarta, Nov 2 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian military (TNI) is still investigating the cause of last Friday's clash between naval and army personnel in Ancol, North Jakarta.
One army officer has sustained gunshot wounds in the clash, Chief of the Indonesian Naval Headquarters' Information Service Commodore Iskandar Sitompul said here on Sunday.
Sitompul said a number of troops are being questioned by the military police.
"The questioning of both naval and army personnel is going on so we cannot yet establish the exact cause of the clash," he said.
Preliminary reports have it that the army personnel come from the Army's special elite force (Kopasus) and the naval officers from the Indonesian Navy's marine corps.
