Qatari Premier Stresses Importance of HH the Emir's Visit to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, April 10 (QNA) - Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani has stressed the importance of the current visit by the HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to Ethiopia, noting that a number of important agreements were signed during the visit which would serve as a base for future relations between the two countries. Speaking to Qatar TV tonight, HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister added that the preparation for visit of HH the Emir were made through two visits the first was by HE the Premier and Foreign Minister to Ethiopia and the second was by the Ethiopian Prime Minister to Doha. On the visit of HH the Emir to Ethiopia, HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said: " as you know, today that six important agreements were signed between the two countries, I think that these agreements will be the basis for future relations between Ethiopia and Qatar , and I think that the two parties are serious to develop this relationship. " HE the Premier and Foreign Minister noted On the change in Qatari-Ethiopian relations , HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said: "First there were not any break on our part., what was that there was an agreement between me and the late Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi when we met in London almost a year ago to discuss the Qatari- Ethiopian relations , and I think that the Ethiopian side had discovered that its thinking about the State of Qatar was incorrect.. and it was agreed to move the relationship between the two countries. ", HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said On the role that Qatar aspires to achieve through its relations with Ethiopia, HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said, "I think that Qatar does not aspire for a role as much as it looks forward to have close and strong relations with all countries of Africa, based on mutual understanding, economy and investments that serve the two countries, this is Qatar's main objective Qatar, as well as to open new channels of relations with countries that we do not have strong relations or common interests.
