EXECUTION OF AMROZI ET AL A MURDER: BAASYIR
Bandung, W Java, Nov 3 (ANTARA) - Noted Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Baasyir said the Attorney General's Office (AGO)'s plan to execute Amrozi et al early this month was a baseless and a murder plan.
After a get-to-gether with Muslim Youths here on Sunday night, Baasyir said the plan to execute the Bali bombing death-row inmates should be canceled because Amrozi et al were not the real culprit behind the bombing.
"The bombs that exploded in Bali were not made by Amrozi and friends so that the government should cancel the plan and investigate the real fact before deciding to carry out the execution," he said.
The Attorney General's Office said last month that the Bali bombers, Amrozi, Ali Ghufron or Mukhlas and Imam Samudra would be executed early next month.
Amrozi and his two associates were sentenced to death by the Denpasar district court in 2003 for their role in the Bali I bombings in 2002 which killed 202 people, including 88 Australians.
