Education Minister Launches E-Learning Project
Doha, April 10 (QNA) - Within the events of the Fifth Education Forum, the Supreme Education Council today celebrated the official launch of the E-Learning project in presence of around two thousand of the leaders of the Council, educators , teachers and students.
HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud expressed his pleasure for the official start of the project which he said is considered a cornerstone in the process of transition to a new and sophisticated phase in education practices in Qatar, to keep pace with the spirit of development. "We constantly work on utilizing the modern technologies to meet the aspirations of our children and prepare them for the Information Age", he said.
HE the Minister said in a speech on the occasion that the transition to e-learning was not a coincidence or a one stage product, but it is culmination of an extensive studies inspired by the experiences of countries that have preceded us in this area, he explained.
He added that the transition to e-learning was, as well, a result of continuous efforts and work for providing the necessary ingredients for the success of the project, including educational cadres' capacity building and providing IT environment, integrated educational systems and advanced infrastructure, that covered all the independent schools, in addition involving the parents in the project.
