Qatar Participates in GCC 2nd Conference for Chiefs of Higher, Cassation Courts

Manama, April 09 (QNA) - Qatar has participated in the 2nd conference for GCC heads of higher courts and courts of cassation, which kicked off Tuesday in Manama. Qatar's delegation to the conference is headed by HE Masoud Mohamed Al-Amri, president of the Supreme Court and chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC). The delegation includes Dr. Thaqil Sayer Al-Shammari, deputy president at the Court of cassation; Mr. Nasser Youssef Al Abdul Ghani, president at the Court of Appeals; Mr. Abdullah Rashed Al-Muhannadi, deputy president at the Court of Appeals; and Mr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Kuwari, director of the office of SJC chairman. The two-day conference discusses three major aspects: examining appeals in the consultation room, the creative role of the supreme courts and cassation courts, in addition to the monitoring of judges' authority in evaluation by high courts and cassation courts. The first edition of the conference was held in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi last year. (QNA)
