13, 000 Saudis trained for tourism
DAMMAM, November 02, SPA – Over 13,000 Saudis have been trained to
work in the tourist sector and related fields through the National
Project for the Development of Tourism Human Resources initiated by
the General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (GCTA).
The move has come as part of the nationalization of the travel and
tourism sector in which Saudis of both sexes are being trained in
specific skills and also in how to deal with tourists on a personal
level through the project’s awareness program.
The GCTA is also working with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural
Affairs to develop and renovate historic sites, among them the
historic areas of Jeddah, Taif Center, Al-Majma’ah, and Al-Hafouf,
according to a report of Arabic newspaper"Okaz" which was quoted
today by the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette.
