SAYOON, Nov. 01 (Saba) - Deputy governor of Hadramout for Valley and
Desert Affairs Ahmed al-Junaid has said that there are plans to
evaluate damages in rain-affected areas in an effort to set out a
comprehensive rebuilding scheme and to compensate affected
people.

The announcement was made at a meeting with the UN resident
coordinator, representative of the UN Development Program Pratibha
Mehta during which the two reviewed, along with the representative
of the World Health Organization in the country, Ghulam Rabani,
human and material losses caused by rainstorms as well as public,
government and supporters efforts to ease their effects.

Al-Junaid noted that rescue and sheltering efforts are ongoing and
they have made progress on delivering aid for affected people.

Mehta and Rabani are visiting the affected areas to familiarize
themselves with the catastrophe effects as part of the two
organizations efforts to conduct studies on these areas to provide
necessary aid particularly in the health field.

They praised the government efforts in securing and sheltering
people, saying the government has done its utmost in doing
its responsibilities.
