HE the Energy & Industry Minister Lays Down the Foundation Stone of New Support Campus Complex of QP Gas Operations at Mesaieed

Doha, April 04 (QNA) - In a special ceremony marking the successful operations of QP Gas Operations for over three decades, HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, today laid the foundation stone of the New Support Campus Complex of QP Gas Operations at Mesaieed. HE Dr. Al-Sada was accompanied by a number of QP Directors and members of QP top management team. Eid Mubarak Al-Muhannadi, Operations Manager welcomed the Minister and his distinguished guests. In his keynote address, he provided an overview of Gas Operations activities and achievements in the field of gas production, gas processing and gas transmission and distribution. He especially highlighted the contributions of QP Gas Operations towards Qatar’s development by being the principle supplier of fuel gas and hydrocarbon feedstock to a wide array of industries and power plants in Qatar. Demonstrating QP Gas Operations commitment towards sustainable development as per the Qatar 2030 National Vision Document, various on-going HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) and Operations initiatives were separately highlighted. Al-Muhannadi concluded his address by expressing his deep gratitude and appreciation to HE Dr. Al-Sada and to Said Al-Mohannadi, Director Operations, for their continued support and guidance. Following the keynote address, HE Dr Al-Sada presided over a recognition ceremony for the retired long-serving ex-Gas Operations staff. Then HE the Minister distributed to the department managers the Gas Operations 2012 Awards. To mark the occasion, Said Al-Muhannadi, the QP Operations Director, presented HE Dr Al-Sada with a commemorative memento. HE Dr Al-Sada then inaugurated an exhibition showcasing achievements and activities of various departments of QPs Gas Operations. He also took the opportunity to interact with the Qatari trainees and developers, who briefed H.E the Minister on these achievements and activities. (QNA)
