Qatar's Second Plan for Alliance of Civilizations

Doha, April 02 (QNA) -Qatar Committee for Alliance of Civilizations (QCAC) held a meeting here Tuesday under the chairmanship of its Deputy Chairman HE Dr. Hassan Bin Ibrahim Al-Muhannadi . The meeting , attended by representatives of some organs proposed to take part in implementing Qatar's second plan for alliance of civilizations , most important of which are the office of HH Sheikh Moza bint Nasser, the Ministry of Culture , Arts and Heritage , the Labour Ministry , the Justice Ministry, the Economy and Finance Ministry, the General Organization of the Cultural Village (Katara) , Qatar Charity ,and Qatar National Bank(QNB), aimed at discussing Qatar's second proposed plan for alliance of civilizations 2013-2016. The participants discussed the plan's basic panels, the targets of the alliance of civilizations , the qatari initiatives set for supporting the alliance of civilizations and qatar's relevant action plan in the four sectors, namely, education, youth, immigration and media. The attendants highly praised the strenuous efforts the QCAC led by HE dr. Khalid bin mohamed al attiyah, the minister of state for foreign affairs and chairman of the said committee for spreading the principles of the alliance of civilizations in the qatari community and showed their complete preparedness to cooperate with the committee and help implementing the said plan. It is worth to mention that the QCAC was established by the decision No. (8) of the Cabinet . The decision was approved by HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, on 29 March 2010. The committee works to consolidate the role of the State of Qatar in highlighting the contribution of the Arab and Islamic civilization alongside with other civilizations to enhance human development and the dialogue role, solving conflicts, confirming values of tolerance, solidarity and peace between the people of the world, and combating extremism and fanaticism. The committee is working as per a vision seeking to achieve closer cooperation between races, religions and cultures, establish the foundation of solidarity exchange of expertise and benefits between the peoples, based on the principles of truth, justice and equality to further realize humanitarian objectives as a whole.
