Qatar Shell Supports Qatarization at Qatar Career Fair 2013 Opening on April 01
Doha, April 02 (QNA) -Qatar Shell is the Pearl Sponsor of the Qatar Career Fair 2013 held under Under the patronage of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Shell is participating in the 2013 Qatar Career fair to open at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), a press released Qatar shell issued here Tuesday said .
The theme for this year is "Write the Next Chapter in Qatars Success" empowering Qatari youth to take charge of their future. The exhibition, in its 6th edition this year, is open for the public from the 1st to the 6th of April. Through its participation, Qatar Shell will introduce employment, internship and sponsorship opportunities in the various departments,functions and engage with the youth and becometo enhance its drive to become the employer of choice for Qatari nationals.
Over 130 Exhibitors from the public and private sector will participate in the nations biggest career-building event. The number of visitors to the fair this year is expected to reach 40,000-50,000. This year Shell is sponsoring the volunteers training programs, which includes aAround 300 volunteers that will help facilitate, usher and guide visitors around the venue during the exhibition.
Qatar Shells participation in the Qatar Career Fair 2013 comes as part of our commitment towards Qatarization, and building developing human development capabilities and nurturing local talent. The Qatarization process drive in Shell is aligned with the countrys national vision 2030 that is partly based on grooming local talent to pursue robust professional careers and leadership positions.
In line with the Strategic Qatarization Plan initiated by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and directives for the energy sector from HE Dr. Al-Sada. Shell provides a structured approach to talent management and professional leadership development both in the technical and commercial fields.

Currently Qatar Shell has around 40 vacancies, most of these vacancies are targeting young Qatari specially engineers with technical backgrounds in addition to commercial roles. In 2013, the total number of Qataris working for Shell reached 300 employees , they hold technical and commercial positions at all levels of the company from young people newly-starting their careers to senior managers.
They include engineers, finance and commercial experts, geologists, researchers, IT specialists, legal consultants, assistant operators and technicians, human resources advisors, project managers, business analysts, marketing professionals and plant operators.
Upon joining, Qataris gain a deep understanding of Shell through a global on-boarding programme. Each employee is provided with the career progression tools that enable competence and skill development. Shell provides multiple approaches to learning, which includes on-the-job coaching, mentoring, short term international assignments, online training, and internal and external courses.
Shell believes that attracting, training and retaining Qatari talent is key to the companys success in Qatar. Shell won the prestigious Industry Qatarization awards for three years in a row, in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
This year Qatar Shell is also sponsoring the volunteer training program, through this participation in Qatar Career Fair, Shell aims to supports its commitment to Qatarization in line with the National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030 and empower the youth of Qatar. (QNA)
