Bahrain FM Hopeful About Outcome of Qatar's Presidency

Doha, March 26 (QNA) - Bahrain's Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has underlined the significance of the 24th Arab summit in Doha due to the big challenges engulfing the nation and requiring joint efforts to overcome them. One of the main issues the summit discussed is the Syrian crisis, the Bahraini official said in an exclusive intervieew with Qatar News Agency (QNA) Tuesday, adding that the Doha summit has agreed to the Syrian opposition request to take the Syrian seat in the Arab League. He noted that inviting chief of the Syrian National Coalition Moaz al-Khatib and head of the interim government Ghassan Hitto to attend the summit is a significant development in the Doha summit. The Bahraini official said that the Palestinian issue and Arab League reform are among the other major issues tackled in the summit. He expressed pleasure at HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani's presdiency over the summit, adding that he is hopeful it will have a sigificant outcome under Qatar's leadership. (QNA)
