Visiting Iran's VP confers with Moroccan PM

Algiers, Oct 1, IRNA - Vice-President and Head of Department of Environment(DoE) Fatemeh Vaez Javadi, who is in Morocco to attend the third ministerial meeting of Islamic countries Environment Department, conferred with Moroccan Prime Minister Abbas al-Fassi Friday.

In the meeting, the prime minister, by referring to the religion and
cultural commonalities between the two countries as well as common
stance on the Palestine issue regarding its capital of Qods, pointed
out, "Morocco is ready to assist finding solutions for the Islamic
world problems."
He also supported Iran's peaceful nuclear activities and said, "All
countries, including Iran, have the right to use peaceful nuclear
program for development and progress of their own nation." Al-Fassi,
meanwhile, expounded on a number of his country's programs and
projects in the field of environment.

Vaez Javadi, for her part, appreciated King Muhammad VI efforts as
well as Moroccan nation for defending Palestine issue and supporting
al-Qods as the capital of Palestine and other Islamic values.

She conveyed warm greetings of the First Vice-President Parviz Davoudi
to his Moroccan counterpart and on behalf of Davoudi invited al-Fassi
to pay an official visit to Iran.

Iran's VP also expounded on programs and projects on the country's
environment and the protected areas.

Head of Iran's DoE also met with Moroccan Minister of Energy, Mining,
water and Environment Amineh Bin Khadhra.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two
countries in the field of environment.

Bin Khadhra by referring to the lack of energy resources in her
country and its dependency on importing energy said her country by
investing on key projects intend to reach self sufficiency in this
field.

She also underlined execution of cooperation agreement between Iran
and Morocco which was signed in the year of 2005.

The visiting Iran's VP, by expressing pleasure over travelling to
Morocco, called for establishment of a working group for executing the
aforementioned agreement and invited Bin Khadhra to pay a visit to Iran.
