Iran Wins 11th International Friendly Tournament

Doha, March 25 (QNA) - Playing an attractive brand of football, Iran on Monday edged past Turkey 3-2 in a hotly-contested game to win the 11th International Friendly Tournament. Turkey scored the first goal in the match in the 2nd minute through Cenk Tosun at Grand Hamad Stadium. Ridvan Simsek scored the second goal for Turkey in the 84th minute. Payam Sadeghian struck twice for Iran, scoring in the 5th and 26th minutes of the first half. Iran's Mohsen Mosalman later fired what turned out to be the championship winning strike in the 74th minute. Mosalman won the Best Player Award while Ali Reza Beiranvand picked up the Best Goalkeeper title. Sadeghian won the Top Scorer Award. Iran emerged as the Best Team in the tournament. (QNA)
