HH the Emir of Qatar Welcomes Omani Deputy Premier

Doha, March 25 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani led well-wishers to welcome Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said and his accompanying delegation upon arrival today at Doha International Airport to take part in the 24th ordinary Arab Summit, due to open here tomorrow. HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tami bin Hamad Al Thani was also on hand to welcome the Omani official. Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said was greeted as well by Qatar's Ambassador to Oman Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Khatir and Oman's Ambassador to Qatar Mohamed bin Nasser Al Wehaibi. The Omani Deputy Prime Minister in a statement to the press upon his arrival expressed his country's hope that the summit would lead to positive steps towards a joint vision of a better future that guarantee development, stability and security for Arab people. HE added that the 24th Arab Summit in Doha is held at a time of exceptional circumstances that had a negative toll on the region's economy. The time has become paramount for Arab countries to find solution to the political, economic, social and security challenges it face in order to maintain the region's unity. The Omani Deputy Prime Minister said that the Sultan of Oman was following intently all of the developments regionally and internationally and wished his fellow Arab leaders would reach decisions that enhance stability in the region. The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed the Sultan's wishes more prosperity for the people of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. (QNA)
