Qatar Petroleum Ready for Qatar Career Fair, Minister of Energy Says

Doha, March 23 (QNA) - HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum (QP), has said that QP and its affiliates are among the biggest employers of Qatari citizens. HE the Minister said that QP was more than ready to take part in Qatar Career Fair to be held April 1-6, adding that QP managed to attract a large number of applicants in last year's fare. Talking on the sidelines of a visit to the Qatar Independent Technical School, operated by Qatar Petroleum (QP), HE the Minister said that he was confident that the company would attract even more applicants this year. Al Sada was accompanied by HE Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, the Minister of Education and Higher Education and the Secretary-General of the Supreme Education Council, Sheikha Abdullah Al Misnad, President of Qatar University, in addition to a number of officials from the energy sector. Al Sada said that QP will do its utmost to always support the school, noting that the Qatar Independent Technical School adopts the internationally recognized TAEF learning system. The school has around 450 students, more than 96% of them are Qataris, HE the Minister added. For his part, HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Saad Ibrahim Al Mahmoud said that the success of the Qatar Independent Technical School was a result of Qatar Petroleum's support. He expressed his delight at the cooperation taking place between Qatar Petroleum and Supreme Education Council in the technical field, praising the idea of having a technical school that provides the national economy with skilled local technicians. During their visit, the school honored the HE Minister of Energy and Industry Mohammed Saleh Al Sada, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Saad Ibrahim Al Mahmoud and President of Qatar University Sheikha Abdullah Al Misnad for their efforts in support of the school. The school also honored a number of companies for the support they provided to the students. Those companies were Maersk Qatar, Qatargas, RasGas, Qatar Petroleum Development Co. Ltd., Qatar Steel, Qapco and Oryx Energy Projects & Services. (END)
