J.AMARSANAA MEETS JAPANESE HEALTH MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Vice Minister for Health J.Amarsanaa has recently met with Japanese Minister for Health, Norihisa Tamura. The Vice Minister expressed an interest to cooperate with Japan in health insurance, a quality health care, safety, first aid, and in postgraduation training. For example, the Mongolian side especially wants to study the Japanese expertise in the health insurance "because we need to renovate our system," he said. Mongolia has become a middle-income country, so "we have an interest to exchange experience not to ask for help." Mongolia also has highly developed Oriental medical sphere, so another cooperation path is open, he said. Japan's Health Minister Norihisa Tamura appreciated these proposals, noting that, with a population of three million many new policies can be implemented. A highly specialized professional can be sent to Mongolia to give advice on the health insurance and policy, the Minister said and spoke about his cointry's health insurance. The Japanese Minister gave Mr Amarsanaa a list of medicaments distributed through their insurance fund and promised to do his best to develop a cooperation. Ch.Enkhtuya
