BI'S FORMER GOVERNOR SYAHRIL SABIRIN GRILLED BY KPK
Jakarta, Oct. 31 (ANTARA) - Syahril Sabirin, former governor of Bank Indonesia (BI, the central bank), here on Friday was grilled by an investigation team of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Syaril Sabidirn arrived at the KPK office at round 9.25 am and immediately entered the KPK building, without giving any statement to the press.
"(I am here) as a witness for Aulia Pohan," he said while walking.
According to information received by ANTARA, KPK on the same day also grilled Baridjusalam Hadi, former chairman of the Indonesian Banking Development Foundation (YPPI), Ratnawati, former treasurer of YPPI, and Roswita Roza, director of the BI Legal Directorate.
KPK Chairman Antasari recently said that his office would call a number of people after the naming of four former deputy governors of BI as suspects.
The former deputy governors of BI were Aulia Pohan, Aslim Tadjuddin, Maman H. Soemantri, and Bunbunan Hutapea.
KPK also summoned witnesses and the suspects for grilling on November 3, 2008.
"The KPK stance is taken professionally, not because of others' wish," Antasari said.
Antasari said that the investigation on the illegal BI funds transfer case would continue.
