HanKook Tire swings to loss in Q3
SEOUL, Oct. 31 (Yonhap) -- Hankook Tire Co., South Korea's largest tiremaker, said Friday it swung to a net loss for the third quarter of this year, hit by surging costs of rubber and other raw materials.
Hankook Tire lost 14.7 billion won (US$11.4 million) in the three months ended
Sept. 30, compared with a net profit of 38.4 billion won on-year, the company
said in a regulatory filing.
Third-quarter operating profit fell 29 percent to 53.8 billion won. Sales rose
18.8 percent to 667.7 billion won, it said.
