FLOKETING SPEAKER RECEIVES MONGOLIAN FM

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Foreign Minister of Mongolia L.Bold was received by the Speaker of Denmark's Folketing (parliament) Mr Mogens Lykketoft on Monday. The latter is here with the official visit until March 6. Mr Bold said Denmark has supported Mongolia in spreading and strengthening the democracy, especially in developing the free press, and all this is greatly appreciated by the Mongolians. The current visit, which is taking place in frames of the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between our countries, is to give an impetus to widening of the friendly relations and cooperation, forwarding the present level of the political ties, keeping the frequency of high-level talks, and to exchanging views on the bilateral cooperation and international issues. He also noted the two countries, having many similarities, have a great opportunity to expand the mutually beneficial cooperation. Expressing satisfaction with the present bilateral relations and cooperation, Mr Lykketoft talked about his meeting with the Mongolia's President and getting acquainted with activities of the project in a scope of Denmark's government. Denmark wants to widen the cooperation in the fields of mining, renewable energy, heating system and agriculture, he said. The sides exchanged views on the democratic revolution of Mongolia, its characteristics, on Mongolia's chairmanship of the Community of Democracies, its becoming a Participating-State of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), on activities of the OSCE and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and on Mongolian participation in the UN peacekeeping operations.
