El Araby Discusses Arab Summit Preparations With Qatari Officials

Doha , March 04 (QNA) - Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil El Araby said Monday that he had discussed with Qatari officials the topics on the schedule of the Arab Summit to be held in Doha in late March. El Araby revealed that he agreed during his meeting with HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani that the topics to be discussed in the summit should be limited to Palestine and Syria, in addition to focusing on the general challenges in the region and the efforts to implement reform. El Araby added that he discussed these topics with HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), El Araby said that he felt the Qatari officials' keenness on holding a successful summit. He said that the officials stressed on their ability to carry out that objective. More importantly, El Araby added, was following up with the summit's result over the course of the year. He also discussed the title of the summit and whether it will be challenges in the Arab World, reform and development or both combined together. El Araby noted that the upcoming summit in Doha is a key one, adding that he had very high expectations for it. (QNA)
