SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS US DEPUTY COMMERCE SECRETARY

Baku, 30 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)- President of Azerbaijan`s state oil firm, SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev met with US Deputy Secretary of Commerce John Sullivan.

During the conversation, Abdullayev praised the United States` assisting Azerbaijan
in realizing its energy projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil and
Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas ones, which he described as a success.
SOCAR`s President also informed Sullivan on preparation process for the second stage
of the Shahdeniz gas project.
Touching on the World Bank`s report praising economic reforms in Azerbaijan, John
Sullivan described the fact as the result of very a favorable business environment
created in the country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Sullivan also praised SOCAR`s achievements, saying Azerbaijan is greatly
contributing to providing Europe`s energy security.
