Arab Transport Forum kicks off in Cairo 3 Cairo

He said that the support for the private sector, together with the
government sector, and the encouragement and creation of the proper
environment for it are essential factors for a contribution to the
modernization of the transport sector and matching it with the
international development.

He noted the great attention given by Saudi Arabia under the
leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin
Abdulaziz Al Saud for the transport sector, which is reflected in the
extensive network of roads linking cities, provinces and centers
throughout the Kingdom and linking them with other Arab countries, in
the establishment of a chorus of ports on both coasts of the Red Sea
and Arabian Gulf and in the expansion of railways.
He emphasized that the Government of the Kingdom has realized
the importance of the role of the private sector as a key partner in
the process of construction and development, noting that the
Kingdom's five-year plans and privatization policies include many
economic activities, particularly different aspects of transport.
