Yemen, Egypt regional meeting among Arab countries to be held in

SANA'A, Oct. 30 (Saba)- Political sources affirmed on Thursday that
Yemen agreed to an Egyptian invitation for a regional meeting for
the Arab countries overlooking the Red Sea to be in Cairo in the
second half of November.

The source told the weekly 26 September that the Egyptian Foreign
Minister Ahmed Abu al-Ghait said the meeting is aiming to coordinate
among Arab countries overlooking the Red Sea to the strengthening of
security and regional and international navigation in the Red Sea,
particularly after the rising incidence of sea piracy by the Somalis.

The source expected the meeting to come out with the importance of
developing the mechanism of coordination among Arabs to avoid
foreign interference and to keep safety of navigation.

In a statement to Saba, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abu Bakr
al-Qirbi affirmed the importance of cooperation among Arab countries
overlooking the Red Sea for keeping navigation's safety.
