AZERI AMBASSADOR IN LONDON MEETS BRITISH MPs

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador in London Fakhraddin Gurbanov met separately British parliamentarians John Mann and Mark Pritchard on Thursday.

According to the Azeri Embassy, discussions during the meetings mainly revolved
around prospects for expanding bilateral relations and interparliamentary
cooperation between the two countries.
Gurbanov informed the British MPs about political and economic situation in
Azerbaijan.
During the meetings, he also touched upon his country`s conflict with Armenia over
the Nagorno-Karabakh, and said the fact the dispute is not yet resolved is a source
of great threat to the regional peace and security. The Ambassador noted the
conflict must be settled only within his country`s territorial integrity.
Gurbanov also touched upon recent presidential elections in Azerbaijan, and said
they were praised by international observers as democratic, transparent and meeting
international standards.
