Palin eying 2012 presidential aspirations

Washington, Oct 30 (PTI) Exuding confidence that November 4 elections were going their way, Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin has said she will remain a key player in U.S. politics and may even run in the 2012 polls.

Palin hinted at her ambitions in an ABC interview that will be broadcast Thursday as she said "I'm not doing this for naught."

"I think that, if I were to give up and wave a white
flag of surrender against some of the political shots that
we've taken, that would bring this whole, endeavor to
nothing," the vice-presidential nominee said when asked if all
the mudslinging in the current campaign made her return to
politics in Alaska.

"Regardless of the outcome of November 4 polls. I'm
looking ahead to the 2012 election cycle," she said.

Palins comment came as reports said she was breaking
free of campaign restrictions and doing more self-promotion,
as she has virtually realised her White House chances
dwindling along with those of her running mate John McCain.

Presenting a bold face despite drubbbings in the
opinion polls, the 44-year-old mother of five told ABC News
she was confident the McCain-Palin ticket would defeat
Democrats Barack Obama and Joseph Biden in the November 4
vote. She left everything on the wisdom of the electorates.

I'm "thinking that it's going to go our way on
Tuesday," Palin said. "I truly believe that the wisdom of the
people will be revealed on that day." PTI SAZ
