SPEAKER MEETS WB COUNTRY DIRECTOR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The credit and assistance policy of the World Bank (WB) towards Mongolia will not alter greatly, and the WB intends to closely cooperate with the administration of Ulaanbaatar city, said Ms Coralie Gevers, the Country Director of the WB for Mongolia. Ms Gevers said it Tuesday at a meeting with the Speaker Z.Enkhbold. She thanked the Speaker for the audience and officially congratulated him on becoming the top legislator of Mongolia. Then they shared views on a present socio-economic situation in Mongolia and other issues. Ms Gevers expressed her position over the General plan for developing the capital city until 2020 and ensuring of an implementation of reforms policy and programmes of the new parliament and the cabinet. In response, the Speaker said the 2013 state budget was approved at inertia of previous parliament but the 2014 budget will be adopted reflecting a presence of the current parliament and government. He went on that the budgetary authority of localities has increased 2.5 times, so the people are able now to monitor the budget spending and to know where the money would go to. Mr Enkhbold noted the General plan for UB has been adopted by the parliamentary autumn session, and said it is planned to transfer the location of the UB city's administrative office to the city's Songinokhairkhan district within two years if the financial matter is tackled quickly.
