Joint Qatari-Saudi Technical Border Committee Holds Meeting
Riyadh, February 27 (QNA) - The joint Qatari-Saudi technical committee for demarcation of land and maritime borders held the first session of the committee's 20th meeting in Riyadh last night.
The committee said in a statement that the meeting came in implementation of the joint minutes on land and maritime borders between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, signed in Jeddah on 05/07/2008 and ratified by the governments of the two countries; and in line with the minutes of the 19th meeting of the joint Qatar-Saudi technical committee, signed in Doha on 11/10/2012.
According to the statement, the first session of the 20th meeting of the joint Qatar-Saudi technical committee was held at the headquarters of General Authority for Survey in Riyadh on Tuesday in presence of members from the two sides.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the topics listed on the agenda and took the necessary measures thereon, the statement noted.
The meeting was chaired on the Qatari side by HE Mohammad bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi, and on the Saudi side by President of Saudi General Authority for Survey Marie bin Hassan al-Shahrani.
HE al-Rumaihi expressed pleasure of the meeting which represents a continuation of the fruitful previous meetings between the two sides.
For his part, the head of the Saudi side expressed hope the meeting would contribute to achieve the aspirations of the two countries's governments. (QNA)
