EUROPEAN INVESTORS VIEW INVESTMENT SITUATION IN RI

Jakarta, Oct 30 (ANTARA) - Managing Director of the Indonesian- Netherlands Association, Elmar Bouma delivered remarks on the implementation of investment regulations in Indonesia from European investor perspectives at a national seminar on Regional Administration Strategies in Improving Investments, sources said here Thursday.
"Good governance, sound policies with supportive facilities and infrastructure are the hopes of foreign investors," he said in a seminar attended by 76 participants from regional administrations, business practitioners and the media.
Promotional strategies are also one of his main points concerning efforts including establishing an investment promotion institution, strengthening the potential of each region and technological application.
When asked about investment prospects, Bouma mentioned the visit of a number of potential businesspeople from 25 companies led by Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Maria van der Hoeven to Indonesia next month and another business group from Belgium, as a good sign that Indonesia is still interesting to investors.
He also said investment in agriculture produce is still open as the Netherlands is the third biggest farm produce exporting country in the world.
Earlier the seminar featured Muhamad Lutfi, head of the Investment Coordinating Board as keynote speaker, Faisal Basri, an economist and Fauzi Bowo, the Jakarta Governor
