LOCAL ADMINISTRATIONS DESERVE MORE BENEFITS FROM FOREIGN INVESTMENT, ANALYST
Jakarta, Oct 30 (ANTARA) - Local administrations benefit more from foreign investment in their own areas, senior economic analyst, Faisal basri, said here Thursday at a seminar on Local Government Strategies for Investment Climate Improvement, at Manhattan Hotel, South Jakarta.
"The government needs to give more incentives to the local administrations to enable them to enjoy more from investment in their own areas, and change their development orientation from building shopping malls and hotels into other projects which would serve people of middle and lower income," Faisal said.
According to the analyst, the local administrations need to enjoy more of the results of foreign investments, since most of the tax and customs revenues were for the central government.
