Vietnamese experts awarded Lao medals

Hanoi (VNA) - Four collectives and two individuals from Vietnam 's
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) were awarded First
Labour Medals of the Lao State President for their contributions to Laos
' agricultural and rural development on Oct. 29.

The awarding ceremony held in Hanoi also witnessed Lao Minister of
Agriculture Sitaheng Rasphone, on behalf of the Lao State President,
presenting other eight collectives and 22 individuals of the MARD with
Second and Third Labour Medals as well as honourable awards.

On this occasion, nine Vietnamese individuals received Lao Prime Minister's
Certificates of Merit for their contributions to the construction of two
large irrigational works in Laos .

Addressing the ceremony, both Lao Minister Sitaheng Rasphone and
Vietnamese MARD Minister Cao Duc Phat reiterated consistent policies of the
two States and Parties to strengthen and develop the traditional friendship,
special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries
