WORLD INTEREST IN ECONOMIC AND BUSINESS NEWS ON AZERBAIJAN IN RISE

Baku, 30 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)On 30 October, Leigh MacKay, General Manager of the Asia
Pulse Pty Ltd (Australia) has visited the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency,
AzerTAc, where he held a meeting with staff of the News Agency.
Aslan Aslanov, General Director of AzerTAc, updated on the history of the number one
official News Agency of Republic, the path of development of the country after the
Nation`s Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power, the care and attention of the Great
Leader for AzerTAc, the today accomplishments and progress Azerbaijan gained under
the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Mr. Aslanov especially stressed that last years prestige and authority of Azerbaijan
has risen on the international arena and the country has become economically
weighty. The intensive economic growth allowed the country to implement large-scale
economic projects in region and consecutively the country plays important role in
energy security of Europe. Azerbaijan`s speedy development attracted attention of
the international organizations, Mr. Aslanov noted. Evidence to that is the last
report of the World Bank, “Doing Business”, that announced Azerbaijan the world`s
first reformer country. According to him, these successes promote expansion of the
News Agency`s international relations as well. So, the Agency has established
contacts and close cooperation with a number of world news agencies. This allows
distributing the realities about Azerbaijan over the world, the Director General
underlined.
The Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency, AzerTAc, heads to world information space and
has become a member of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and its
Executive Board, the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), one of the founders
of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA), the Turkish
Speaking Countries News Agencies (TKA), the Association of National News Agencies of
CIS countries (ANIA). Current year the Agency hosted the meeting (30th) of the OANA
Executive Board and the meeting (7th) of TKA General Assembly. In the Organization`s
history, it was for the first time that the president of EANA and heads of member
news agencies participated at the OANA Baku meeting.
Noting importance of the relations with the Asia Pulse Pty Ltd Company, the Director
General highly estimated cooperation with this Agency.
Mr. Leigh MacKay gave comprehensive information about the Agency he represented,
noting that the Asia Pulse Pty Ltd distributes detailed Asian business news and
electronic online databases among the government agencies, corporations, academia
and other business professionals. Among the Company`s partners are Xinxua, IRNA,
ANTARA News Agencies, as well as authoritative news agencies of Japan, Australia,
Korea, Taiwan, India, UAE, Pakistan and other countries.
Reminding that the cooperation contract between AzerTAc and the Asia Pulse Pty Ltd
on exchange of news is in effect, Mr. MacKay said the importance of news about
Azerbaijan with dynamically growing economy, rises day by day for numerous
countries, business structures, and executives. From this standpoint, Mr. Leigh
MacKay said, his Agency attaches particular importance to expansion of cooperation
links with AzerTAc.
The Director General of AzerTAc said larger distribution of the news related to
quick economic growth in Azerbaijan, on reliable business environment is one of the
priorities of the Telegraph Agency which is interested in more intensive mutual
cooperation.
The parties had comprehensive exchange of views on closer cooperation between
AzerTAc and the Asia Pulse Pty Ltd Company.
