ROTA s Female Volunteers to Visit Cambodia

Doha, February 25 (QNA) - Twenty three female volunteers representing four independent girls secondary schools will set out on an 8-day trip to Cambodia organized by Reach Out To Asia (ROTA). The trip will be from March 1-8. In collaboration with ROTA s Cambodian partner the Monithapana Foundation and under the sponsorship of Vodafone-Qatar, the all-female volunteer group from Al Bayan Independent Secondary School for Girls, Al Sailiyah Independent Secondary School for Girls, the Qatar Independent School and the Amna Bint Wahab Independent Secondary School for Girls, will host several workshops in Cambodia during their stay in the country. Prior to the visit to Cambodia, ROTA will conduct a 4-day orientation sessions for the female volunteers to prepare them for peer-to-peer sessions. The orientations will take place from February 24-27 at the ROTA headquarter. A total of four orientation sessions will be conducted, during which volunteers will be sharing skills, practicing public speaking and developing the content of the workshops they will deliver in Cambodia The volunteers will also receive briefings about ROTA projects and the school in Cambodia, Cambodian history, culture and other relevant information. "Visiting Cambodia will give the ROTA volunteers a wonderful opportunity to develop and enhance important life skills such as communication, empathy and interpersonal relationships. In addition they will experience a ROTA project that delivers high quality, modern education in a safe learning environment," said ROTA s National Programs Director, Mr. Mohammed Abdulla Saleh Besides the 23 female volunteers chosen for the Cambodia visit, the team will also comprise of 6 teachers, 4 ROTA Staff and a trainer.
