CULTURE MINISTER MEETS FRENCH AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ France wants to expand cooperation with Mongolia in several spheres, especially in archeology, film arts and tourism. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Mongolia Mr Yves Delaunay said Wednesday at a meeting with Ms Ts.Oyungerel, the Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism. Noting that the countries have been collaborating in the archeological sector for over 20 years, Mr Delaunay expressed a willingness to continue this cooperation, and underlined that the joint archeological excavation works achieved efficient results. In response, Ms Oyungerel said Mongolia wants to take assistance from France for preparing human resources for the archeological and paleontological spheres "because specialists are needed to save excavation works in times of intensive mining". Mr Delaunay invited Mongolia as an honorary guest to an international meeting of tourism, which will run this September in France. It is expected that a memorandum on the cooperation in the above spheres will be established soon between the countries. B.Khuder
