"COAL MONGOLIA" INT'L INVESTORS' CONFERENCE APPROACHING

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The “Coal Mongolia-2013” international coal investors' exhibition and conference will take place February 21-22 in Ulaanbaatar.
A secretary of the Coal Mongolia conference's organizing committee B.Altanshagai has given details about the conference.
The third international conference is aiming to bring international investors into our coal sector, to introduce the most advanced and environmentally-friendly hi tech to this sector, to create a mutually beneficial partnership able to strengthen Mongolia's competitiveness in Asian region, Altanshagai said.
The conference is also to introduce domestic and foreign investors into a policy the cabinet for reforms adheres to in the coal sector, to openly discuss a draft new wording of the mineral law, and to deliver its main meaning, he went on.
Some 7,000 delegates from over ten countries have sounded a willingness to take part in the conference, besides, the Ambassadors of the USA, Russia, China and Japan will come to it as well.
According to Altanshagai, the measure will discuss seven key issues such as a present situation of the coal sector in Mongolia, its tendencies, the international relations and cooperation in the sector, a coal market and the competitiveness of Mongolia in it, the legal environment for the mining sector, energy investment projects, infrastructure and coal spheres, techniques and technologies, and the Governmental time.
In addition will be considered matters on nowadays situation of the world's coal sector, new projects on energy and coke coal, technological reforms, infrastructure, railway network, transportation, environmental rehabilitation, urgent problems of water management, augmenting exports, and ways of creating the third market, he said.
In accordance with the conference's schedule, 24 reports will be delivered. For example, the Mining Minister D.Gankhuyag will give a report “Present situation of Mongolia's coal sector and its tendencies”, an executive director of the Mongolian Mining Corporation (MMC) G.Battsengel--a report themed “Coal sector of Mongolia for metallurgy and advantages of manufacturing value-added productions”.
One of the big parts of the conference, the “Coal Mongolia” exhibition, is expected to attract 62 companies, including the biggest ones in the world, he added.
This year's conference and exhibition will be sponsored by some 50 organizations and companies such as the MMC and the HERA Equipment LLC as the platinum sponsor and the Hunnu Coal Limited as a diamond sponsor. Moreover, the conference will be supported by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Mongolian Business Council, the Association of Mining Managers and other institutions. Over ten organizations, including MONTSAME news agency, Bloomberg TV Mongolia, the Mining Journal and Oxford Business Group, have been selected as the international and local media partners.
At the end of the conference and exhibition, a "Conference proceedings" book will be published.
