BAN KI-MOON PHONES MONGOLIAN PRESIDENT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ While being in South Sudan, the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received on phone congratulations from the United Nations Secretary-General Mr Ban Ki-moon. Mr Ban Ki-moon expressed thanks to the State Head for paying the visit to the South Sudan and greatly appreciated him for being the first State Head to visit South Sudan and the first state head to visit his peacekeepers in his country. The President noted that he is getting acquainted with the service of his country's peacekeepers, and said Mongolia is ready to continue forming a peace in the youngest member-country of the UN. The dignitaries also talked about a crash of the UN helicopter, which carried a group of Russians, on the eve of the 2013 in Southern Sudan. Mr Ban Ki-moon underlined that the UN is giving a special attention to this case and that the investigation is underway. Mongolia's is presiding over the Community of Democracies (CoD), the State Head mentioned, and invited the Secretary-General to take part in the 7th CoD Ministrial Conference which will run this April in Ulaanbaatar.
