US announces $ 50.000 aid for affected eastern areas

SANA'A, Oct. 29 (Saba) - The United States has announced that it
will provide urgent humanitarian aid worth $50,000 for victims of
heavy rains in the eastern provinces of Hadhramout and Mahrah.

In a press release, the US embassy in Sana'a said that the money
would be channeled through the World Food Program which will
transport 17 tons of food productions " high energy biscuits" from
Dubai to damaged regions.

The remaining sum would be used to supply other relief materials.

The press release noted that the embassy is currently contacting
with Yemeni government, UN and international NGOs to identify the
nature of needs required to provide support for relief and
sheltering efforts to ensure best means to continue providing
aids for victims.
