US HAS BEEN AN EARLY AND CONSISTENT SUPPORTER OF GROWTH OF INDEPENDENCE AND REFORMS IN AZERBAIJAN, DEPUTY SECRETARY OF COMMERCE
Baku, 29 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)‘The United States has been an early and consistent supporter of growth of independence and reforms in Azerbaijan” said visiting Baku U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce John Sullivan at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said the aim of his visit is to once again “show support of the United States
government to government of Azerbaijan, to its economy” and discuss bilateral
commercial issues.
Sullivan said he already held meetings with President Ilham Aliyev, Ministers of
Economic Development and Finance, President of the State Oil Company, as well as
American business leaders who do business in the country.
On bilateral trade between the United States and Azerbaijan, he said it doubled from
2006 to 2007 to 2 billion dollars.
Sullivan praised Azerbaijan`s ranking as the top reformer in the World Bank 2009
Doing Business study.
