Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques lays foundation stone of

SPA - Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Ala'ssaf, Minister of Finance, delivered a speech in which he praised the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' support for the role of women and their participation in development and service of society in line with Islamic values and for development of education.

Dr. Ala'ssaf said the university will occupy an area of 8,000,000
square meters and the area of its buildings will be about 3,000,000
square meters. It will include an administrative area; an academic
area of 15 colleges and 700-bed hospital; a housing area for staff,
families and students with public facilities including mosques,
schools and other recreational installations and a transportation
system.

Then, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Ala'nqari, Minister of Higher
Education, delivered a speech in which he announced naming the
university after the name of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
King Abdullah adding that the name of the university has become "King
Abdullah University for Girls."

Dr. Ala'nqari hailed Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King
Abdullah's support for girls' education.

Then, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah directed that
the university be named after Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman saying,
"In the name of God, the most beneficent, the most merciful. I thank
brother Khalid and sister Aljooharh for this naming, but this
university shall be named after Princess Norah bint Abdulrahman."
