Over one thousand runners cross the finish line at the Dolphin Energy Doha Dash
Doha, February 12 (QNA) - 1,360 Qatar citizens and residents took part in the inaugural Dolphin Energy Doha Dash at Losail International Circuit today.
The Dolphin Energy Doha Dash, held in celebration of Qatar National Sport Day, saw runners following the tyre marks of Motor GP stars as they raced around the circuit.
Supported by spectators from across Doha, the participants competed in four categories including a 5km and 3km race, a 1km Mini Doha Dash and a 1km ladies walk.
Hollie Jenkins, with a time of 21 minutes and 52 seconds, and Chamada Gadissa, with a time of 16 minutes and 38 seconds, were crowned champions of the 5km race - a full lap around the International Circuit.
Dusty Spates and Jessica Singer took first place in the 3km race and Rossin Browne and Mohammed Anas-Kv were victorious in the 1km Mini Doha Dash.
Mr. Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Dolphin Energy, Qatar said: "This event has allowed us to strengthen our community outreach commitments and reemphasise the importance of health and fitness to all our stakeholders residents and citizens of Qatar, our partners and our colleagues.

A fantastic atmosphere was created by all who visited Losail International Circuit, and ensured a great day out for all. Every runner was congratulated with cheers from their many supporters as they finished the race.
The Dolphin Energy Doha Dash, organised by Professional Sports Group, was supported by a number of leading businesses in Doha including title sponsors Dolphin Energy, platinum sponsors Vodafone Qatar and supporting partners Fitness First, Kellogg s, Rayyan Water and W Doha.
Each of the event sponsors joined forces to promote healthy living for all in Qatar by providing a number of fun activities for the runners and spectators to enjoy.
Dolphin Energy provided the opportunity to run against Qatar s fastest man and event ambassador Samuel Francis as well as offering free health checks, while official fitness partner Fitness First held pre-race warm up sessions before every race and live demonstrations throughout the day.
In addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle, the Race Village at the event ensured an exciting day out for the entire family with a range of entertainment activities including special children s WiiSport area in the Dolphin Energy pit-garages, and a relaxing chill-out area provided by Vodafone.
Visitors to the event also had the exclusive opportunity to have their picture taken and get an autograph from Team Qatar 100m sprinter Samuel Francis, and British Olympic silver medalist Samantha Murray.
