LANDSLIDE BURIES OVER TEN HOUSES IN CIANJUR
Cianjur, West Java, Oct. 30 (ANTARA) - A landslide buried at least 11 houses in Ciseuti hamlet, Pasir Baru village, Pagelaran sub district, Cianjur district, on Wednesday.
One of the houses was badly damaged by the landslide which hit the settlement following incessant heavy rains over the past two days.
Two small mosques were also damaged in the disaster, Pagelaran Sub District Head Aris Heryanto said.
The disaster claimed no casualties as most of the hamlet's residents had been evacuated to a safer area early on.
Landslides had happened in at least six locations on the border between Pagelaran and Sukandagara sub districts. The landslides cut off the Pagelaran-Sukanagara road on Tuesday and Wednesday.
