Culture Minister Inaugurates Second Creativity Exhibition

Doha, February 05 (QNA) - HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari inaugurated Tuesday evening the second creativity exhibition, being organized by Youth Activities and Events Department of the Ministry from 5 to 7 February at Katara. HE Al Kuwari said the paintings in this exhibition reflected creativity and excellence of their owners, despite the fact that the expo is designed for youth (amateur and junior). He praised the role of Youth Department in embracing emerging artists and granting them an opportunity to highlight their talents as well as develop such a talent. He also added in a statement to Qatar News Agency on the sidelines of the expo's opening that the plastic art in Qatar is witnessing remarkable progress, adding that exhibitions held continuously throughout the year have been revealing that this kind of art is thriving and that it receives due attention from various bodies in Qatar. HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage underlined the importance of holding creativity exhibition on an annual basis to give young people the opportunity to communicate with the public directly and share with them their art works. Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage Mubarak bin Nasser Al Khalifa said the ministry's goal behind organizing this exhibition was to discover emerging talents in Qatar, especially those who are not members of the Ministry of Culture's centers. "This why it is very important to hold such exhibitions to cast light on the creative skills of young people," he underscored. (QNA)
