PRESIDENT HOLDS CLOSED-DOOR MEETING WITH ECONOMISTS, BUSINESSPEOPLE

Jakarta, Oct 29 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a closed-door meeting with a number of economists and businesspeople at the State Secretariat here on Wednesday.
Among the economists attending the meeting were Bambang Brodjonegoro of the University of Indonesia (UI), Didik J Rachbini, Ninasapti Triaswati, Fadhil Hasan, and Aviliani of the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef), Badia Perizade of the Palembang-based Sriwijaya University, and Christianto Wibisono of the Global Nexus Institute.
The businesspeople included MS Hidayat, John Prasetio, James T Riady, Chris Kanter, Agus Martowardoyo, Franky O Widjaja, Benny Sutrisno, Robert Budi Hartono, Wisnu Wardhana and Gita
Wiryawan of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).
Also present at the meeting were acting Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs/Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, State Enterprises Minister Sofyan Djalil, Bank Indonesia Governor Boediono and a number of officials including Joyo Winoto of the National Agrarian Agency (BPN) and Anggito Abimanyu of the Finance Ministry.
Economist Raden Pardede had not shown up until the meeting started at 02.25 p.m.
Earlier reports had it that the meeting was aimed at discussing the national economic situation.
