HH the Emir Visits Qatar Railways Company (Rail)

Doha, January 31 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani paid a visit this morning to the headquarters of Qatar Railways Company (Rail) this morning. At the beginning of the visit, HH the Emir witnessed a presentation on the architectural designs for the Qatari railways project, and the stages of its implementation, developments of the pre-construction stage and what has been accomplished so far. HH the Emir also was briefed on models and drawings of the project including the Doha metro network, the long-distance trains network, freight trains and cargo network as well as terminals and automated transportation. HH the Emir also listened to a detailed explanation about the operating plan that will take place according to the latest international standards and norms in order to reach a strategy that provides modern and quick means of transportation with latest global technology. HH the Emir was accompanied during the visit by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Qatar Railways Company (Rail) project.
