QNA to Participate in National Sport Day Celebrations

Doha, January 30 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency will participate in the National Sport Day celebrations which will be held this year on Tuesday 12th February, along with news coverage of these events which various ministries and government and private bodies as well as all members of the society will involve in. QNA Director-General Ahmed bin Saad Al-Buainain said in a statement that QNA's participation in this day comes in response to the Emiri Decree No. (80) of 2011 which aims to encourage future generations participate in sport and to promote a healthy lifestyle for the society, especially for young people, through sport programs and various events, which is a commitment to Qatar National Vision 2030. He explained that the wide participation in the first edition held last year showed how everyone accommodated the important message of this Emiri Decree. Al-Buainain also expected that everyone will be keen to participate more in the activities of this year's edition and will contribute to its success, and this was confirmed by the earlier preparations announced by the various ministries and government and private bodies. QNA Director-General expressed thanks to the Board of Directors of Al-Wakra Sports Club for providing an opportunity and open their doors for QNA employees and their families to participate in the various events that will take part in this day. Al-Buainain has formed a committee to prepare and get ready to celebrate the Sport Day, in which QNA employees will take part in the march to be held along the Doha Corniche and then will move to Al-Wakra Sports Club where competitions in football, basketball, volleyball and tennis table besides sports and entertainment competitions for children and adults will be held. This year events will take place on the Corniche, Aspire, the Museum of Islamic Art and Olympic parks. (QNA)
