PRESIDENT MEETS WEF CHAIRMAN SCHWAB

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia is full of opportunities, it has become one of the outstanding countries for its leadership, initiatives and participation, said a founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Mr Klaus Schwab on Tuesday. Prof. Schwab said it at a meeting with Mongolia's President Ts.Elbegdorj within the WEF running in Davos, Switzerland. Mr Schwab expressed satisfaction with Mongolia's issuing the "Chingis" bonds and with intensive drop of the corruption index of Mongolia. In response, Mr Elbegdorj hoped that a round-table meeting to be co-organized by Mongolia and the WEF in September will be fruitful, and that the bilateral cooperation will create a good business environment, augmenting investments to Mongolia. Mongolia and the WEF have been actively cooperating in the issues of water, mining, corruption combating and climate change, thanks to developing of the collaboration, a level of Mongolia's participation and cooperation moved up. On January 23, a memorandum of mutual understanding was inked by L.Bold, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and by Mr Alois Zwinggi, a Managing Director of the WEF on Resources and Processes affairs. Accordingly, the sides will co-run a round-table meeting in September this year in Ulaanbaatar to discuss prospects of the Mongolian economic development and its tendencies. B.Khuder
