Qatar Ministry of Awqaf to Participate in Cairo International Book Fair

Doha, January 22 (QNA) - The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs will take part in the 44th Cairo International Book Fair which will start tomorrow and continue until Feb. 5. The ministry is seeking through the fair to highlight its role in the field of Islamic heritage revival and publishing of Islamic books and contacts with bodies concerned with publishing. In its pavilion , the ministry will 15 new books on display. Head of Book Section at the Department of Islamic Affairs Ali Mohamed Marzouqi said the ministry's pavilion was designed to reflect the Qatari heritage on an area of 18 square meters, referring to the ministry's keenness on participating in the most important fair in the Arab world to benefit from its advantages in terms of participants, books on display and the large number of visitors. Some 735 publishers from 25 countries are taking part in the fair which includes a number of cultural events including a programme of book and author, intellectual debates, round tables, cultural cafe and creativity camp.(QNA)
